Help Fund Ft. Myers First Ever Kitty Café!
Haven on Earth Animal League (HEAL) is a 501c3 non-profit, no kill animal rescue organization operated completely by volunteers. Many of us have crossed paths before. We may have met when you adopted your sweet cat, kitten or dog from us, we may have helped you place a cat, kittens or a dog in need of a forever home, perhaps we met at an event or maybe we’re FB friends with lots in common! However it happened we’re so grateful that we've met!
HEAL has been rescuing pets for over 8 years now and in that time this small group has found homes for over 1200 pets in Lee county, FL! Our dedication to the animals is stronger than ever but we now need to ask for your help with a special project that will help save even more lives! Our new venture sprung from a problem that faces many adoptable cats-they have what we refer to as "cagefright". For whatever reason (usually fear/feeling threatened when caged) these cats just don’t do well or “show” well in a confined environment. It usually takes many months or sometimes years before these cats are adopted. Most of these fine felines will shine in a cozy and relaxed free-roaming environment making their chances for adoption much greater!
Since HEAL does not have a physical shelter we have launched a mission to open the first Kitty Café in Fort Myers, FL. Here these special kitties will be able to live temporarily (while awaiting their forever family) in a comfortable homelike environment where they can show potential adopters just how purrfect they are! Kitty Cafes are springing up all around the country-9 of them have opened in the last ten months! We want to be Fort Myers first and keep the trend going to save more lives and get cats off the streets.
We are still in the early stages of getting this café off the ground and are in need of your help! We are raising funds to help cover expenses until the resale shop that we are adding to the café has had time to get established and is making enough to fund the cafe. The café will be run by feline friendly volunteers (so you can help out there too!)
All funds raised will go directly to the startup of the Kitty Café (rent, insurance, supplies etc.). Please give what you can, every dollar will put us one step closer to our Grand Opening. We will be eternally grateful for your TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation, but most importantly, we will be saving more lives TOGETHER!
