We are the Healing Haiti team, a group of students from Cupertino High School traveling to Haiti in partnership with Angel Wings International, a nonprofit organization with a simple mission: to improve the health and well-being of the underserved in the communities of Haiti.
This summer, we will have the incredible opportunity to go to a country where the simplest tasks can make a large impact. Our team will be interacting with patients and assisting medical personnel at Angel Wings International's clinic in Jacmel, Haiti from June 7-26. Although this trip consists mostly of medical work, we will also be doing an array of needed service projects, including distributing care packages to local Haitians.
We created this gofundme account to ask for your support! Each group member needs to pay for all travel and lodging expenses for the trip. In addition, our team would like to purchase vitamins, medical equipment and supplies to bring as donations. In order to make this possible, we hope to raise $12,000 by June 5, 2016. We can use any support you can give, even if it's a small amount!
Your donation will help us provide basic medical care to those who would otherwise not have access to care. Some local Haitians walk for hours to get to the clinic and there are often very long lines to receive treatment. In addition, you will be helping provide a rare opportunity for hard-working students to gain medical experience with a compassionate organization.
