Dear friends, family and benefactors....
We, friends of the family of Alexander, an 18 year old boy with a relapse of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia,
want to help Alexander and his family in this turbulent and frightening time.
Four years ago Alexander became ill with ALL and with treatment it looked like he beat his cancer, however, the last year he has been having back pain and was diagnosed at the end of summer 2016 with a relapse.
His cancer came back in the form of tumours, which is not seen often. He is now on the bone marrow transplant list and is waiting for a compatible match. We would like to help his family with the present financial challenges.
The goal is to help Alexander´s family through the next several months of treatment, travel costs, healthy diet and associated treatments not covered by health insurance.
The family has recently taken up residence in the Ronald McDonald house in Barcelona where they have been fortunate enough to have been offered a room after some time on a waiting list.
Since Alexander became ill the first time four years ago, the family have lost their support system. Alexander´s maternal grandmother and grandfather have both passed away in the last four years, as well as his paternal grandparents. His biological father passed away and he has lost friends he made in hospital.
Alexander´s father works long hard hours on the farm and his mother has had to give up her work to care for her son full-time. Alexander and his mother see his father, her husband, very sporadically due to the need to keep things running on the farm.
Alexander has not once complained or pitied himself, he is a strong, resilient boy with a very bright future ahead of him.
We ask generous spirits able to help that they do so...
Our motives are sound and sincere. We are able to provide anyone wanting proof of illness with the information they require to feel secure they are donating to a worthy cause. Alexander is certainly a worthy cause, as are so many young people faced with an illness as this.
Alexander is and always has been an enlightened soul who always has time and kindness for others.
