Bashi in Boulder

Bashi (Mitford Brown) has been an icon street-performer on  Pearl Street for over 30 years, and has amazed crowds with his performances, aka Bashi-in-a-box. He makes very little money performing and lives on a meager monthly supplement from Boulder Senior Assistance. He has lived in the same rented room for several years, but the house is being sold and he must be out by 3/31/18. We have  extensively searched for a room, but none is available for the $650.00 per month ( more than 50% of his income) that he can afford.

He has a good heart, loves Boulder and has been an important draw on Pearl Street. People come to the street just to see him perform. He loves Boulder and despertly needs help. Any amount you can give will help to find another rental room before he has to live on the street. None of the many social service agencies and housing authorities in Boulder have been able to help. The wait-list for affordable rentals is beyond long.

Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to give him at least 1 year of room rent. He needs these funds now so that more money can is available to find him a rental room. He wants to continue to perform and bring joy to all those who stroll down Pearl Street
