Help Brianna fight Lyme Disease!
Donation protected
Brianna was diagnosed with Lyme in 2014, but she has been fighting the disease for over 12 years.
The Lyme and co-infections have gotten into every part of her body - her organs, muscles, brain, blood, joints, nervous system, and more. Brianna has dealt with a wide array of debilitating symptoms, and many other health issues that have spawned from the Lyme disease. At this point in her life, although she still pushes through a full-time job and taking care of her husband and 2 year old daughter, most of her "spare" time is spent on the couch. On a good day, she's able to walk around the block. On a most days, she can hardly stand for longer than 10 minutes at a time. On the rare occasion she has a social activity, or after her work events, it takes her days (and sometimes a full week) to recover back to her “norm”.
Now that she has a child, it's more important than ever for her to get better. She's had to miss out on so much in life, and she doesn't want her health to continue to exclude her from "living a happy life"- especially with her family.
Brianna and Leigh can't afford this journey on their own, and they need your help. In 2018 alone, they spent over $17,000 in medical expenses. Their credit cards have been maxed out and savings depleted, and they are still paying off bills from procedures that didn't work and things not covered by insurance - as most treatments for Lyme are not.
Although she has made some progress over the years, she continues to have relapses, and still has a ways to go before she can get better. There are so many treatments for Lyme out there, but none that are a sure shot, as every person who has Lyme has different infections, different symptoms, and react to things in a different way. It's a very expensive trial basis! But Brianna and her husband feel confident that, one day, they will find the treatment that will work best for her. They thank everyone who has helped support them along the way!
