Connor's Medical Treatment
Donation protected
We are Peter and Misty Phillip, and we have 3 wonderful sons who are the joy of our life. Our middle son Connor is a special young man who has bravely endured a life of hardship, pain and difficulty. Connor was born with club feet that were so severe, they were fully backwards and upside-down. Over the years this has required 7 invasive and painful surgeries to correct.
On top of all of this Connor was misdiagnosed at an early age with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He endured years of therapy to help him grow into a lovely functioning young man. However, last year we had Connor tested at a neurological center, the outcome of that examination was he had a condition we had never heard of - Autoimmune Encephalitis and PANDAS. These conditions attack the motor function portion of his brain, affecting his speech and overall coordination and motor function. The bright side of this diagnosis is that there are medical treatments that can dramatically help with the condition, one such treatment is called IVIG -Immunoglobulin. In Connor's case this involves once a week treatment via 4 subcutaneous needles for 2 hours.
The only down side to this is the cost, which runs $4,700 a month. This is not covered by insurance, and is in addition to his other therapies that cost another $1,000 a week.
We have already done 6 months of treatments with IVIG and have seen amazing improvements. The funds will go to continue Connor's treatments and therapies, helping him to reach his full potential.
We are grateful for a gift in any amount, to contribute to Connor's life changing treatements.
