Help Relocate Our Colonies!

Three colonies of beautiful White Tailed Prairie Dogs in Grand Junction Colorado were in danger of immediate annihilation this past Spring. Luckily, a concerned citizen in Grand Junction reached out to Sandy Nervig with Growing Ideas for help to save these beauties. Sandy traveled the long distance to Grand Junction and immediately fell in love with these prairie dogs. She fought hard for these colonies and got the press involved in this story as one of her efforts to save them. Sandy then contacted BLM for a possible receiving site and amazingly,  after a lot of effort, land was secured for these babies! She received 25 acres to move these prairie dogs to within a 22,000 acre BLM High Desert property near the Utah border where these cuties will forever be protected! Here is their new home:


Growing Ideas was able to secure a receiving site, which in itself is a miracle, but they were not able to secure any funding to save these prairie dogs. Currently, Sandy is staying in a hotel in Grand Junction and will need to be there for at least 3 weeks during this relocation which is very costly. In addition, she is paying for all of the gas, equipment, and volunteering 14 hour days to get the job done as she only has 3 weeks to move prairie dogs out of 2 of the 3 capture sites. Sandy and these prairie dogs need our help!
