Helping Hearts Community Outreach Corp.

We are putting our boots on the ground to serve those facing or experiencing homelessness by launching Helping Hearts Community Outreach Corp.❣️

Currently, we’re operating as a nonpolitical and nongovernmental grassroots organization. We will be assembling care packages that are person-centered (think.. single moms, veterans, etc) in addition to home-cooked meals, clean water, first aid supplies, survival gear, etc. We also are offering peer-support coaching for those in need of an ear to listen. Furthermore, we are operating as a resource hub so are doing a lot of networking.

The initial fundraising goal will help us get groceries and supplies to begin getting out there and canvassing the Capital Region. As soon as we get a mobile unit, we will be taking trips to Long Island to do the same.

Our first big goal is to get a mobile unit (utility van or older RV type) so that we can essentially have a traveling needs boutique where we can go to known populated areas and serve those in need from a parked location. Once the 501(c)(3) gets solidified from the state, we will begin applying to grants.

 We’re not stopping there. We’re preparing to organize volunteers for roles like ‍home chef, street outreach, and care package preparer once we have enough traction. We’re also going to be partnering with local organizations and businesses for donations and table events. There is so much need out there, and we believe in love and compassion - and we have enough to spread!

We believe it’s unreasonable to solely rely on taxes (ie the government) to provide, especially since money allocations, fraud, and certain guidelines prevent people who make true effort from getting a leg up. Sometimes it takes a village and that’s okay. We think it makes more sense to have a bit more control over how we can help ➡️ how we can be effective without waste or excess and how people can receive basic needs and overlooked person-centered necessities (down to bug spray or dry dog shampoo).

 From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate all the support we can get, especially at this beginning stage. We will be documenting this journey via images of our work, so you’ll be along for the ride if you so choose!
