Kyle's Heart Journey

Donation protected
Kyle was born with a unicuspid aortic valve stenosis; a PFO; and a murmur. Basically, he has one aortic valve leaflet instead of the normal three leaflets we all have.

Since he only has one leaflet, it overworks will eventually thicken and then stop working. This will cause Ky to slow down.  We were initially told it could be years before that happens but unfortunately we are now seeing that isn't the case.

When I had Kyle the valve was working around a -35% efficiency rate. After we sedated him in December 14', we found out that it's now -59%. Our cardiologist informed us that at around 80%-85% efficiency we need to do surgery.

There are two procedures that we are looking at doing. The first is a balloon inserted into his thigh that works its way up to the heart. This balloon will try and create the leaflets. If this fails, it's immediately open heart surgery to replace the valve.

We  created this site as a way for those that have asked how they can help to have a way to do so. We don't want anyone to feel as if they have to or need to.  If anything please just say a prayer for him and our family as we continue this journey.

We also have a facebook page you can follow his story on if you wish, that link is: https://www.facebook.com/SweetBabyKy
