Help my Ridley fight cancer/FeLV
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Colin, and my cat Ridley has a large malignant mass in her pancreas. We're not sure if it's lymphoma or something else, but her X-Rays show that her intestines have dropped considerably low in her abdomen and her bloodwork shows that reds are down and whites are up. None of this is good.
My cat is, without offense to any of yours, the best cat. I've had lots of companion animals in my life, but I've never felt so loved by anything or anyone as I do by this animal(well, maybe my girlfriend).
She finds me first thing in the morning and is waiting for me when I open the door, she sits on my lap while I'm trying to work and in front of my food when I'm trying to eat. She comes when she's called, understands(and usually abides by) "no," she wants all the belly rubs your cat doesn't(at least she did, until this abdominal pain began) and she gives her kisses and purrs freely. To me, anyway. Less so others.
In short, she is a cat. But she is my cat. And I love her.
I work on contract, and I don't have the funds right this minute to have her ultrasound/biopsy/chemo/radiation paid for. The initial screening and assessment, which prove her time is running low, has already cost us nearly five hundred dollars. Prednisone is the only option afforded me if I can't pursue aggressive treatment. I might be able to keep her somewhat comfortable for her remaining time, but I'd rather just have my cat.
I went through lymphoma myself, stage three, and there'd be a lovely kind of symmetry if we'd both pulled through it, I think. If you can see to it, I'd love your help. Thanks for your time.
