Help Sarah Find a Kidney Donor

Donation protected
My name is Jennifer, and I started this donation page for my best friend Sarah so she will be able to watch her children grow up and find the donor she needs to live.

On April 17, 2007 Sarah's life was turned upside down. She had not been feeling well and decided to take a trip to the ER. When she arrived she soon discovered she was in Renal Failure. Sarah has been on the donor list since January 2009 and has had very little luck finding a donor. After being on dialysis for 5 years I have decided to help my friend try to get an extra chance at life so she will be able to see her two beautiful children grow up.

I have created this page to help with funding for Sarah to find her donor. We will be using this money to help educate others on becoming an organ donor and debunk the myths of being a live donor. The money will also be used to help Sarah rent a billboard and purchase t-shirts in hopes to find a donor. Once Sarah has a potential donor we will also use this money to cover any expenses the donor might have due to having to travel back and forth to Nashville. The potential donor will have to cover all gas, food, and hotel and as a thank you for their selfless act I would like to help them as much as I can.

If there is any money left over we will donate to another person on dialysis so they too will be able to cover the expenses of finding a donor.

Please feel free to follow Sarah's journey to a new Kidney on her Facebook Page:

If you are interested in being a live donor for Sarah she is looking for anybody with type "o" blood between the ages of 18 and 65. You can contact me, Jennifer, or Sarah on our Facebook page or by email.

Thank you for reading Sarah's story. Share your spare and save a life.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE 10/23/2013 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday Sarah received a call that they found her a match. She was told she just needed to come in and do a final test and then would be off to surgery the next morning. Around 11:30pm last night, Sarah, her friends and family were all crushed with the news her anti-bodies are too high and they had to cancel the surgery. We also found out that the chances of her receiving a cadaver kidney are very slim and she will need a live donor! Dialysis is starting to take it's toll on Sarah's body and she needs a kidney ASAP! ~ Admin Jenn
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~UPDATE 11/5/2013 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Last night Sarah received some more devastating news. She was told that her insurance was not going to be able to cover the 3 treatments she desperately needs to receive a new kidney. Each treatment costs $20,000. So in order for Sarah to be able to receive these treatments we now need to take this to a whole new level. Sarah is fighting for her life right now, and without this treatment Sarah will die. Her children will lose their mother way too early. If you are not able to donate please just share this post! Share your spares and save a life! All donations made will be going to cover the treatment Sarah needs to receive a kidney and to help Sarah find her donor. ~ Admin Jenn
