New Year, New Direction
At the beginning of a new year, many of us pause to reflect on our health and to resolve to do better. We may also look around and ahead to see how we can be a part of something bigger than ourselves. By the grace of God and with your help, Sheriff Mack is still here to do both. Last year, on January 12, he suffered a near fatal heart attack, and his wife has gone through two surgeries since that date. Many of you have shared invaluable health tips and have generously given of your resources so that they both could have the provisions they needed in order to recover with less stress. Sheriff Mack credits you with helping him to avoid bankruptcy and enabling him to resume his work with CSPOA and says he doesn’t know what he would have done without you, continually expressing his gratitude. He has accepted a new teaching position which provides health insurance and plans to make an even stronger recovery and work for better health in the year ahead, like the rest of us.
In addition to greatly assisting one family in practical ways, you have demonstrated the viability of private solutions on a grander scale. This campaign was begun almost a year ago by friends who saw a generous person in need, who were compelled to take action, and who believed in the value of individuals voluntarily helping one another. We (the organizers) are grateful to each one of you who supported our efforts with your encouraging words, prayers, and financial contributions. We are also grateful to the GoFundMe staff who provided this site and who have faithfully assisted us along the way, to WePay for forwarding the finances, to Jimmy Mack for helping us with Facebook, and to Sheriff Mack and his wife for their humility in allowing public communication about their most personal situation. We hope that all have been spiritually blessed through participation and will continue to dialogue with constructive comments. Questions can be directed to the e-mail link on GoFundMe or [email redacted]
There is still work to be done -- maybe more now than ever, if we want to remain free to help one another and enjoy other liberties affirmed by our Constitution, have a safe and secure place to live and raise families, and be protected and served by sheriffs (and other law enforcement persons) who have a strong respect for life and liberty. With his renewed strength, Sheriff Mack is working to expand the impact of his vocation through Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association and asking that you give a new direction to your donations: www.cspoa.org
Again, we thank you so much for helping us through this difficult time. We have now closed donations for this GoFundMe campaign. If you are concerned about the path you see before us in this country and want to encourage and support constitutional county sheriffs (and other law enforcement persons), please consider joining Sheriff Mack to fulfill his mission. You can go to www.cspoa.org to become informed, get involved, buy books, and make donations, regardless of your occupation. We look forward to walking with you in this new direction and pray that we can all work together in good health throughout 2016.
