Theresa Long - Help the Long Family

I am a third grade teacher at W.B. Simpson Elementary school. I am raising money to help one of my students whose family was recently in a horrible car accident. My student's father and brother were both involved in the accident and were put into intensive care at local hospitals. The little boy named Matthew was only five years old and had just recently started Kindergarten. He was brain dead from the accident and the family had to make the hardest decision of their lives. Throughout this a father and husband was laying in another hospital fighting for his life, with multiple broken bones and a brain injury. As a teacher telling my students about one of their friends having to go through this terrible situation I watched as their eyes filled with tears and my heart broke.  They had so many questions and concerns, together we decided we wanted to help this family anyway that we could. We wrote letters and cards but now we want your help to support this family financially. With the many medical bills and funeral costs we want to do our part to help and we hope you will too! As a teacher, I am struggling to get this family off my mind as I sit here writing this with tears in my eyes I can't imagine the pain their family must be going through. Please help my class on our journey to raise money to eliminate some of the financial burden this family will face, becuase the pain is something we can never take away but we can help to improve their financial outlook.
