Heart for Children Inc. is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that serves underprivileged children in Jacksonville, Florida. During the school year, HFC offers an afterschool program for children five to 15 where the children receive free tutoring, snacks, computer access, and mentoring. HFC has been in existence since 1998 and has been recognized as an innovative and respected non- profit by local foundations such as the Jaguar Foundation, Maurice Jones-Drew Foundation and many more. Heart for Children Inc. reaches a need in this area of the socio-economically disadvantaged individuals we serve. The students that attend the afterschool program have 99.9% grade promotion rate.
HFC also serves underprivileged youth in this community providing a summer camp that offers a multitude of engaging recreational, educational activities and field trips. From team building and sports, to reading and math enrichment. Engaging in the importance of culture by providing cultural days that teach languages, introduce foods, and arts of different countries to these at risk youth.
HFC is a safe haven for these children ages 5 to 17, providing a place for them go and engage in positivity and are surrounded by positive mentors. HFC serves over 50 children, during its summer camp program every year. Many of the families are unable to pay for the services, this family oriented nonprofit provides.
With your help, HFC is asking for monetary support to continue to provide the services of the summer camp for these disadvantaged youth that look forward to attending each year. At this time Heart for Children Inc. is in preparation for its five week summer day camp program June 13th through July 15th. The day camp is for at risk and under privilege kids and teens residing in the northeast side urban core community. For eighteen years HFC’s summer program has offered youth fun and unique experiences with an opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime.
Summer is the ideal time for kids to get up, get out and explore. But, for some kids summer means no access to recreational and educational activities to help them learn, grow and thrive during out-of-school time. As a result, some kids can experience learning loss and gain weight twice as fast than during the school year. Attending Heart for Children Inc.’s summer day camp is a wonderful opportunity for kids to keep their minds and bodies active. Heart for Children program offers: Healthy meals and snacks, arts & crafts, exercises in improving mathematical and reading skill sets, field trips and so much more.
Heart for Children is seeking funding to help with nutritional meals, field trips, transportation and other activities. Sponsor a camper at $50 a week or for $250 for the five week program. By providing
assistance, HFC will recognize and acknowledge you as an official sponsor for HFC’s Summer Camp 2016
