We are a small independent film-making collective based in Florence, Italy.
During the Covid-19 lockdown we developed a script that could be shot on location in our local environment with a skeleton crew and few actors.
We are fundraising to cover our shooting, post and distribution expenses with the aim of sending the film to major European film festivals. THE STORY HIKE is a feature-length revenge-journey movie set in Tuscany with a British gangster flavour. Uncle Teddy is dead. Two cousins, Howard (Tim Daish, Devils, My Brilliant Friend) and Mike (Julian Vich, Florence Movie Academy graduate), meet at his funeral and become acquainted for the first time. Howard regails Mike with tails of Teddy's life as an East London gangster with his fingers in pies all over Europe and Mike, who has grown up in Florida with little knowledge of his uncle's past, is immediately drawn to Teddy's glamourous and shady lifestyle, and the way Howard tells it. Howard invites Mike to a three day Hike in Tuscany that Teddy took Mike on when he was a teenager as an 'initiation' into the family business. There is also the matter of a debt that Howard needs help with to collect and perhaps Mike is just the man for the job. Directed by Spence Siss. Original idea and story by Tim Daish.
