Locust School Wall Restoration Fund

Donation protected
We are the Winneshiek County Historical Society and  our Locust School Museum is currently undergoing repair of a collapsing east wall. Rebuilding this east wall will

Preserve this historic property which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Fund raising efforts began when the wall began to move and now this spring it was so serious that work had to be started before the wall collapsed.  The project consists of removing all windows on east side, shore up roof and wall to make an independent wall, excavate along the foundation, rebuild & reinforce the foundation, rebuild the east wall, reinstall windows, grade soil away from building and clean up construction site. Once repaired the WCHS will be able to continue operation of this historic one room Locust School as a Museum for elementary school children and the public to visit.
The Winneshiek County Historical Society is a 501(c)3 entity,  your donation is fully tax deductible.  The goal for completing this project is $15,000, your support for the preservation of this historic property is greatly appreciated!
