Rebuilding In Indy

In April I lost my job of 5.5 years.  I knew it was approaching.  Many times over those 5.5 years I felt as though I was hanging on by a thread that was splitting.  I initially worked a 12 hour night shift that enabled the Ulcerative Colitis that I suffer from to flare.  I was off of work for 2 months having to care for my potassium levels that put my heart at risk and also my kidney function was a concern.  The UC flare then triggered Major Depressive Disorder to a point where I was almost no longer functioning.

I moved to the day shift and found that working 12-16 hours is just that no matter which shift I worked.  I loved my job, took pride in my work, but it did not love me.  I was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and at the end of each shift I was so swollen and sore.  I did nothing for those 5.5 years except go to work and sleep which fed the Depression.

I also lost my apartment.  I have rented since I was 18 years old  (I am now 37) and have never been late on my rent.  My rental history has always been impeccable until I fell behind and my landlord was not willing to make arrangements with me.  A new property manager was put into place and even though I had lived in my apartment for 7 years and had never been late on my rent or had a complaint he did not care.

I then moved into an Extended Stay.  I was desperate to not sleep in my car.  That is when I created this campaign.  I was destitute, my unemployment claim was denied, I did not have a 401K, and I had nowhere to turn.  Donations from this campaign helped me keep a roof over my head while I was waiting to start my new employment and receive my first check.

However, during that time I was unable to pay my storage rental fees and since then I have lost possession of ALL of my belongings in storage including my fall and winter clothing.  It is now October and I have no warm clothing and paying weekly for a room (even at a low grade Extended Stay) has been depleting my funds and making it impossible to take care of my monthly obligations and or save for a new place.

I have a co-worker who has graciously offered for me to stay with her until I get back on my feet.  Even though I will be paying her rent I will no longer be paying $250.00 weekly so I will be able to (finally) take care of my car repairs (as I still need my wiper motor replaced and the exhaust is literally hanging off of my car), pay my past due accounts from when I lost my apartment, and save funds to obtain a new place.

I know that things are getting better and there is a light at the end of this tunnel, however, I am still in need of assistance.  Thank you to those who have donated to my campaign, who continue to share my campaign, who are going to donate, and who keep me in their prayers.  You are appreciated.

With Love,
