Hope for John
14 years ago, Johnwas the victim of a workplace acciddent in which he fell from an eletrical tower he was servicing in New Jersey. His injuries were severe and life-threatening. After leaving the hospital he relocated to Florida.
Then his benefits were cut off. He challenged the insurance company to get those benefits reinstated, thus far without material success. In order to be present for the dozens of hearings required by his case, John came back north, to Philadelphia, to be near the courts where his case is being heard. But with no money or support structure, he lives on the streets—homeless and at the mercy of the elements.
John has required multiple surgeries on his back and knee. He conrinues to deal with chronic pain and disability. He walks with a cane and has kidney problems. And even now he is outdoors enduring one of the harshest winters Philadelphia has experienced in two decades.
His only mistake was climbing that tower 14 years ago..
A recent video by Invisiblepeople.tv brought attention to John's plight. Their video accompanies this campaign. Please take a moment to watch it.
The goal here is simple: to raise enough money for John to rent a room while he awaits the otcome of his case. To give him the basic dignity of a bed and a bath that so many of us take for granted.

Please give what you can.
