Help Team Hough DEFEAT Cancer

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

First, thank you for visiting this page. I know it means a lot to the Hough family to have the support of friends, family and even strangers with kind hearts. The Houghs have only been in my life and this community for a short time. However, they have made a lasting impact on everyone they have come in contact with.

Jim and Amanda picked up EVERYTHING they ever knew, put their house up for sale in Walla Walla and moved across the state to start a new life in Sequim. Jim took a new job at 7 Cedars Casino as our IT manager and Immediately was loved by everyone.

I have had the pleasure of spending time with their whole family. They have 3 beautiful daughters, Lilly, Jocelin, and Kahlan. Lilly is 8 years old, Jocelin is 4 with an approaching birthday on April, 3rd and Kahlan is 3. They are all sweet hearts, however I have to say, I've never met a child as sweet as Jocelin. She is gentle, kind and so respectful. She melted my heart the first time I met her.

Unfortunately, Jocelin recently got sick. It was originally believed to be the flu. After it didn't improve, on February 15th, Jim and Amanda took her to Seattle Childrens Hospital in Seattle.  After 9 hours they heard the one word NO parent EVER should have to hear. Jocelin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Their sweet 4 year daughter has Cancer.

She will undergo immediate aggressive chemotheropy, and they are optimistic that Jocelin will recover quickly. They thankfully have a good insurance plan that will cover most medical bills, however, they cannot leave the Seattle area during treatment. They are on a waiting list to stay at The Ronald McDonald house while Jocelin goes through treatments, but the bills at home are going to stack up fast. If they don't get in the Ronald McDonald shelter they will be forced to stay in hotels and commute. Between that, gas, ferry, meals, random expenses, an existing mortgage in Walla Walla and a rent payment and utilities and other bills in Sequim, they can REALLY REALLY use some help. They estimate their monthly bills to be over $2,500+.

Jim told me the last thing he wanted was to ask for help, but the truth is they are going to need it. They were told they need to plan for at least 7 months of therapy. Their number one priority is to make sure their family makes it through this together. They want to make sure their other daughters have an easy transition through all this as well, as difficult as it is going to be. Jim and Amanda are staying optimistic and strong for their family and Jocelin is staying strong as well. Her priority was her baby dolls comfort.

My wife and I love the Houghs and their girls and I know everyone else who knows them loves them too. If you haven't met them, I know they would impact your lives like they have ours. With children the same age, I can't imagine being in their shoes. If you can afford anything, even a dollar, I would ask you to find it in your heart to help them. If you can't afford to support them financially, please say a prayer and send your positive thoughts to Jocelin and the whole Hough family. 2016 will be a trying year for them no doubt,  however with the love and support from the people they know and love, and the wonderful people in this community, they will win this battle!

Thank you all for reading this, I know it means a lot to the Hough family!!!
