My name is Lauren Husting, and I am passionate about teaching private music lessons for dedicated low brass students. I have made this my living- and that means I market myself to certain communities that generally have the means to pay full cost for musical study.
But I'd like to continue doing that- AND reach other parts of the city where aspiring young musicians might not be able to afford private lessons. Here's where you come in. I'd like to start small: raise enough money to provide a scholarship for one student from a low income or underserved district. I have a few potential school districts picked out, now it's up to you to help me fund my goal!
The selected student (or students- if I double my goal, I can offer 2 scholarships, triple 3, etc, etc) will only have to pay $5/lesson. Scholarship money will include the cost of any materials (instruments not included) they may need to ensure their musical success.
The full amount of the scholarship should cover 1 year (roughly 45 weeks) of lessons with me.
I believe strongly in both the lasting effect music has on the education of our young folks and in music for music's sake. Ensemble programs in schools are a huge part of keeping this ideal alive, but private instruction is equally necessary for young musicians hoping to hone their skills.
