Honeymoon Dream

We would like to thank all of our friends for the donations to our honeymoon dream in this moment we have $870. But last night our good friends house burned down and they lost everything. So all proceeds on this Gofundme page will go to our friend Jay Smith and family. He has always been there for us and this is our way to give back to him.

Let me take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and the journey we want to take and share with those who support us.

I am from San Jose, Costa Rica, grew up in the city and never camped until I made trips to the United States, unlike my husband that has camped during his youth.  He grew up in East Tennessee and I have taken several short backpacking trips with him including Mt Le Count, and short overnight hikes on the Appalachian Trail.

We are newlyweds. We eloped in the Smoky Mountains without a formal ceremony or honeymoon and for the longest time we have wanted to take on the challenge of walking the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. We both thought that during our journey we would make a documentary so we could share our event, however, with my husband attending the University of Tennessee, we fall short of having the financial support to do it.

We understand the difficulty of this task but we have prepared physically by exercising daily and talking to those who have walked parts of the trail. Working as a team we are convinced we will be able to make it through the entire trail.

Our timing is good as my husband will be on summer break, and I will be spending the summer in the United States. 

Providing that we make out financial goal, we have decided to make a documentary of our travel adventure to share our experience with others who enjoy hiking. To support our trip we are looking for financial support so that we might obtain the equipment, food, and necessities.
