Jettsen's 529 Contribution 2021
Donation protected
During the holidays, we tend to enjoy sharing gifts to show love and to share fond memories.
This year (and for all that follow) we are asking you to spend your money a bit differently.
In relation to our son, money is usually spent in two ways:
Toys (which will inevitably end up in Goodwill or on Craigslist in a few months), or clothes, which are too small, too big, not his style, or end up unworn because he has just too many for his fast growing little body (we still have unworn clothes from his baby shower!).
We are requesting that you take the money you were going to use to buy him something tangible and instead put it towards his future.
The gift of security will far outweigh any other gift he could receive at this time of his life.
We have set up a 529 account with Merrill Lynch. This is an investment fund that will hold and increase in value. Jettsen can use the money toward any college or trade school located anywhere in the world. He has until he is 28 years old to use those funds. In addition, if he is awarded a scholarship, he can withdraw the money with no penalty.
We also encourage you to please spend time with Jettsen: a hug, a game of catch, a phone call, or Skype all mean so much and will build and grow meaningful memories that will last his lifetime.
We love you and are very happy to have our lives connected to yours.
We wish you the happiest of holidays.
