Space Camp for 6th Grade Girls
Donation protected
Did you know that in the U.S. women only account for 23% of all the science and engineering jobs. Our 6th grade girls are high achievers that have been involved with science fairs projects and wind turbines competitions. They are in need of additional challenges that are not always available to them in our rural area of the eastern Coachella Valley. 97% our students are on the free lunch program due to below average family income.
Please assist us in sending five of our 6th grade girls at Las Palmitas Elementary in Thermal, CA to attend Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It is a 5 day program that consists of mock missions and activities that have a mathematical focus . For instance, they will learn to work as a team to apply the necessary strategies when solving problems as they arise in a mock space mission. Furthermore, they will develop the ability to create technological designs of rockets, evaluate inferences, and predictions that are based on data. Could you sponsor (1) student or any kind of donation would bring us one step closer to reaching our goal. Thank you for being a partner in education.
