Fill the Meat Wagon!

The short story:

The poverty rate in Utica is extremely high. We're raising money to buy some of the most-needed items for Utica's food bank: canned protein.

We ask that you donate $3 to help us!

The long(ish) story:

Want to do a good deed this holiday season and show the city of Utica some love? We want to help you do that!

Food pantries are always most in need of canned proteins. Last year, the food pantries in Utica told us they had a serious shortage of these items.

**LET'S SEE HOW MANY OF THESE HIGH-NEED ITEMS WE CAN COLLECT WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER!**

We'll be collecting canned proteins on December 20! But if you keep forgetting to pick up canned meats and beans or you just don't want to see us stinkin' Furlongs that day - you can donate a few bucks here by Dec 19 and we'll buy and donate it for you!
 
What we'll be collecting:
-canned tuna
-canned chicken
-canned beef stews
-canned salmon
-bean soups
-canned or dried beans
-baked beans
-canned chili
-peanut butter
-canned nuts
-Spam
 
The poverty rate in Utica is around 40% and a large percentage more people are just above that level. Our city is struggling to feed itself. By working together we can make sure some families have these important items.

 $3 will buy 5 cans of tuna fish or 3 cans of beef stew! We hope you'll make that small donation and enjoy feeling just a little more Christmassy knowing a family will eat better because of you.
