Indian Dog Rescue and Relief

Donation protected
I'm raising money to fund a trip to India to help alleviate the suffering of animals.

I am a vegan, animal welfare campaigner and animal rights supporter and have previously traveled to India in 2011.
I met so many beautiful animals in India, wild and domesticated but what struck me as I meandered around such an intriguing place, is how hard the dogs have it there, particularly the bitches, for whom there is no let up in the endless cycle of motherhood which sees them into an early grave. The situation is hideous; riddled with fleas and lice, puppies limp from from one trash heap to another hoping to find dirty nappies from which to eat, animals suffering from untreated skin conditions lose all their fur and no longer resemble the dog that they are. Wounds go untreated, parasites are rife and dead puppies are frequently sighted.

Many other animals are in a terrible state of bad health and these include donkeys, pigs, cats, goats, cows. I saw some terrible cases of abuse and neglect but many people in India are trying to help the animals and I want to join them.

I can help them all by going and volunteering. I have the will and the capability, all I need now is the funds!

Please donate to help me fund flights, food and board for me to volunteer at the Animal Aid Unlimited shelter in Udaipur, Rajasthan for 2 months. (www.animalaidunlimited.com)

After 2 months I will move on to volunteer at the Animal Rescue Centre in Goa (www.arcgoa.in) for a further 2 months.

Money not used in facilitating my voluntary work will be spent on the animals; I will be donating necessary medical supplies such as flea and mite treatment and vaccines to the sanctuaries. Paying for sick animals to see the vet and get emergency care if required. If enough money is raised and the target exceeded I will be able to consider paying for neutering dogs, which is needed so badly to reduce numbers and suffering of bitches.

I will be recording my experiences on a blog with photo's of the amazing animals and people I meet.

A little money goes a long way in India so please give as much or as little as you can, together we can alleviate individuals suffering and aid the thankless work that the sanctuaries in India are doing.

Thank you
