Aid to Inmate Mothers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Montgomery, AL. Our mission is to provide services to Alabama’s incarcerated women with an emphasis on enhancing personal growth and strengthening the bonds between inmate mothers and their children. We believe that in order to help children, we must help mothers first. Because of this, we provide a range of services to mothers both during their incarceration and after. We sponsor a monthly visitation program for mothers to reunite with their children who have no other means of transporation to see them. Our Story Book Program allows mothers to record themselves reading to their children so that children have a keepsake of their mother's voice during their separation. In addition to these services, we provide classes in the prison and reentry services after. Our GENESIS House is an 8-bed reentry home thathelps mothers recently released from prison. We provide safe andstable housing, employment services, case management, and even common necessities such as clothes and toiletries to women during their timewith us. For those not able to stay with us, our Pack A Purse program supplies each woman with a purse or tote full of basic necessities upon her release from prison.  

Of course, to provide each of these services, we must have funding. We realize that we could not keep our doors open if it were not for your generous support in whatever ways you are able to give. Our community is wonderfully supportive and we are thankful for that every day.
