Edwardian Ball Outfit Fund
I've been invited to a major steampunk event!
I'm Jonathan Fesmire, and I'm a steampunk author and a chronicler of the culture. I've interviewed numerous cosplayers, makers, and writers prominent in the steampunk community. Now, I've been invited to the Edwardian Ball in Hollywood as a member of the press.
Soon, I'll be covering the ball in more detail in my The Mostly Steampunk Blog, which you can find on my website .
As a writer and sometimes steampunk artist, and as someone who hasn't been able to go to a convention in years for a variety of reasons, I don't have any appropriate atire! I need to get some appropriate steampunk clothes for myself and for my 8-year-old son.
So, I'm hoping to raise $250 within the next two to three weeks so that I don't have to put my money for bills into outfits. I struggled in poverty for about six years due to unforseen circumstances, and pulled my way up to where I can provide for my and my son's needs, but could really use a little help here.
As you can see, I'm not asking for a lot. I plan on getting most pieces on eBay and at thrift stores. I'd like to go as the main character of my upcoming steampunk western novel and I'm sure that with a bit of help, I can pull that off and put together a great outfit for my son.
Now, I know there are more urgent causes to support on GoFundMe. However, if you have a few bucks to send my way, it will help my son and me prepare for the event, which in turn could really help my career as an author and, dare I hope, influencer in the steampunk community.
Anyone who donates will also get a sneak peak at my upcoming novel, Bodacious Creed: a Steampunk Zombie Western, before its publication in July or August this year!
(Incidentally, you can learn more about the novel on my website. You can also sign up for my newsletter with just your email address, and get the first prequel short story for free.)
