J5 PROJECT

It has been my dream for 30 years to build a functional Johnny 5 robot.  I have built various versions over the years, including Lego, popsicle stick, and leather versions.  My best version to date has been a full scale statue made with Construx building toys.  I have started on this build, but it is rapidly becoming too expensve.  I want to build a fully functioning robot, both as close to, and more advanced than the movie prop.  With  modern technology such as 3d printing and open source microcomputers this is possible at a fraction of the cost of the original.  The goal may seem high, but J5 is a very complex movie prop. 

All donors will receive a personal thank you, and I'll tell you exactly which part of the robot you helped make!  Eventually I’ll add all donor names to the startup/diagnostic screen on the robot!
