Carrie and Greg Elyea
Donation protected
Hello, my name is David. I am doing this Gofundme on behalf of of my fiance and her family. They are going through a lot.
On April 1st, her sister Carrie and her husband Greg's home in Jackson, New Jersey caught fire. The fire started downstairs inside the home and spread quicky. Sadly, Carries mother-in-law Sally, did not make it to safety in time. Sally was a devoted mother and will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone that knew her. Also, their loving puppy didn't make it to safety either.
The fire spread so fast that it trapped Carrie upstairs and she struggled to find the window with all the smoke and flames. Eventually she was able to find and open up the window and escape to safety, but not before having to jump from 2 stories high. Carrie is alive, but suffered minor injuries and was able to thankfully walk away.
The flames and smoke were so bad that Carrie, neighbors and first responders were not able to get to Sally or the puppy. Greg was at work at the time of this tragedy and rushed home after he was notified.
Not only did Greg lose his mother, but he lost his childhood home of 39 years and everything in the home. The only thing the family is left with are the clothes on their back and their vehicles.
Everything happened so sudden and is very shocking to all of us. The family is in grieving and could use all the love and support through this difficult time.
We are taking donations of anything you have to help to get them started in this long process of getting back on their feet. Clothes, furniture, dishes, etc are very appreciated also.
We know nothing can replace Sally, the puppy and everything else that was lost, but we are hoping this gift will give them an encouraging starting point with what they are facing.
We thank everyone for their support through this hard time and tragedy and if you are unable to donate, that is fine. Please share and please pray for them.
