Dear friends and chosen family,

We are drawn together by a man I met simply as Jason. Some of you know him as Mr. Hemp. Many of you know him as one of the visionary individuals who fought for and won cannabis freedom in the United States, and who continued to champion that freedom in Mexico.
(Read more in his new High Times Interview:

I met Jason recently while we were working on a joint project that could have led to agritourism and the construction of hemp houses.

But on May 18th, everything changed.

As I walked into a shared kitchen on the property, Jason said,
"I need help."

I immediately stepped into action. I had no idea that day I would be saving a man's life.

People who hear the story have called me a hero. To me, it was simple: What else could I do other than help a person who was becoming, and continues to be, a very dear friend?

Today, I invite you to be the Hero in Jason’s story.

Jason sustained extensive, life-altering injuries to his hands and arms after suffering a severe electrocution that passed through both of his arms and across his chest for an unknown duration of time. The physical trauma is significant, and the road to recovery could be long and challenging.

Currently, Jason is living on a remote island that lacks the specialized neurological care he desperately needs. We recently received devastating news: the only viable neurology facility in the state, on Oʻahu, cannot accept his insurance. This means his best option for treatment and recovery is to get him back to Colorado. He has spent months living in excruciating pain without answers, and as you can imagine, this injury is eating through his savings fast.

Jason is a long-time advocate for health and Constitutional values in Colorado. His decades of determination led to a landmark cannabis trial victory in 2009 and the co-authoring of pivotal hemp legislation in 2012 and 2013.

The man who has fought so hard for others' freedom and healing now needs us to fight alongside him.

Navigating the financial side of health recovery is a massive hurdle. We are currently waiting for insurance approvals and claims to be processed, creating a stressful financial gap for immediate out-of-pocket medical costs and daily living expenses. We want to focus all our energy on Jason’s healing, rather than the mounting stress of bills.

If you are able to contribute, any donation will directly bridge this temporary gap.

Where Your Contributions Will Go:
Every dollar raised will directly fund Jason's journey to Colorado, ongoing healing, and medical rehabilitation:

  • Medical Relocation and Travel: A flight to Colorado ASAP so he can access the care he needs.
  • Temporary Housing & Transportation: Rent for a safe place to stay near hospitals in Colorado, and reliable transportation to frequent appointments.
  • Retroactive & Ongoing Caregiving: Cover the cost of in-home care Jason has needed for safety and essential daily activities.
  • Daily Living: Nutritious food and basic living expenses while he is physically unable to work independently.
  • Livelihood Accommodation: Hiring a typist to operate the keyboard and mouse, allowing him to safely continue his work.
  • Medical Expenses: Out-of-pocket medical bills and necessary rehabilitation supplies.
  • Assistive and Rehabilitation Equipment: Robotic arm devices to assist with movement and specialized physical therapy.
  • Mobility & Assistance Service Dog: Acquire and train a service dog to help Jason safely navigate daily physical tasks.

Other Ways to Help (Beyond Financial):
We know not everyone can contribute financially, and our hearts will rejoice with any support, even a prayer. If you have resources, knowledge, or time, here are other critical ways you can support Mr. Hemp:
  • Medical Connections: Do you know anyone interested in conducting medical research or offering expertise on bilateral arm/hand and across-the-chest electrocution injuries? We are actively seeking specialized knowledge. Neurologists, psychologists, hand/perifpheral nerve specialists, occupational therapists, or clinicians experienced with electrical injuries.
  • Integrative Health: Jason loves thinking outside the box and knows the importance of non-standard healthcare. Are you a practitioner, or do you know one? Donations of alternative healing practices are deeply appreciated.
  • Meals: Dropping off a meal (once he arrives in Colorado) or sending grocery gift cards.
  • Organizing Group Contributions: If personal financial support is not feasible, please consider coordinating group or organizational donations.
Share His Work: Visit, read, and share his websites:

Please do not feel obligated to give financially. Your emotional support, words of encouragement, keeping Jason in your thoughts, and sharing this message with your network mean the world to us.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and love during this difficult time.

With immense gratitude and love,
Jason Lauve, Sabrina Moani & Jason's Support Team
