Hello family, friends, and guests!
2014 was a year of discovering my true purpose in life and doing the work to become the very best version of me. During this time of soul searching, I realized that design was my gift and calling. Interior Design brings me to a place of joy and happiness when I am working on projects that bring that same joy and happiness to the client. Since the day I had my “aha moment” I have been putting more energy towards my gift of design in hopes to fulfill my life’s purpose.
So why do I have a GoFundMe? Although I know that Interior Design is a gift, I also know that there is a lot about the industry that I must learn in order to ensure that I am successful. I have decided to enroll into The Art Institute of Houston to study Interior Design to gain knowledge and concepts that I currently don’t know that will make me one of the industry’s leading designers one day.
I have exhausted my federal student loan amounts with previous colleges and this will be my second undergrad degree, which makes me ineligible for any Pell Grants. Consequently, I have to pay $60,000 of tuition out of pocket for this degree. Though this could be discouraging, I am faithful that everything will line up, as it should. I am asking you for your sponsorship in helping me acquire my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design. Any amount will be great and humbly appreciated.
Receiving this degree will not only be for myself. After completing my degree and getting into the industry, I hope to start a mentoring program for youth who are interested in the design industry whether it is interior, fashion, event, or another element of the industry. I truly believe that if I had a mentor growing up who could have helped me mold and shape my gift at a young age, I would already be operating within my gift and passion right now. I want to ensure that I give back what has been given to me. Receiving this degree will allow me to acquire knowledge and in return teach those who come after me.
