Jean Yves Ishimwe

Dear friends,
On Saturday, June 17th, 2017, we lost a dear brother and very good friend Jean-Yves Ishimwe. Jean-Yves was born on May 23, 1994, in Southern Rwanda. He attended high school at Petit Seminaire Virgo Fidelis in Butare, graduated first in his class and earned a Rwandan Presidential Scholarship to study in the United States. He attended Morehouse College, then transferred to the University of Michigan to finish his Electrical Engineering degree.
On top of many friends he made along the way, Jean-Yves has been named the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center Most Outstanding Electrical Engineering Student, and one of his research has been published in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Journal. In his free time, Jean-Yves enjoyed playing Soccer, playing classical piano music and listening to Karahanyuze music.
We are currently raising funds to help his family back in Rwanda during these hard times as we arrange to get his body safely returned back to his family.

My name is Pacis Bana, I am a recent graduate from William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. I have known Yves since 2013. He was not only a classmate but a leader and a friend. I have also got the chance of meeting his brothers on multiple occasion. We are currently in touch with the University of Michigan Dean of Student's office, The Rwandan Embassy in U.S, and The local Sheriff department.
I will also travel to Rwanda to be with his family at the funeral and to hand deliver your donation.
