What is YWAM?
Youth with a Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups and Christian traditions dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world.
What is Crossroads DTS?
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a 5 month lecture and outreach that embodies YWAM’s mission to know God and make Him known. DTS provides an environment for students to personally encounter Jesus Christ, learn to hear God’s voice, and respond with joy. The Crossroads DTS is specifically designed for people 25 and older and who feel the Lord calling them to step out of their day-to-day life and spend a season of time with him.
Dates
Discipleship School: January 3 - March 27
Outreach: March 28 - May 24
Graduation: May 31
Expenses
Discipleship School: $3995
Outreach: $4,500-5,000
Health Insurance: $450-$550
Phone Bill: $30-$40/month
Who is my King?
Throughout scripture God reminds his people that He will lead them, go before them and fight for them; he reminds them that he is with them. In 1 Samuel 8 the Israelites ask God for a king; their reason for asking is they want to be like all the other nations having a king to lead them, to go out before them, and to fight their battles. In asking this question they have forgotten who they are as God’s chosen people, separated for a purpose. They have forgotten they already have a King who does those things; a heavenly king so much greater than anything this world has to offer.
For about 10 years I have prayed about doing a YWAM DTS; never quite brave enough to step out in faith. During that time I completed college degrees, worked different jobs and lived many places seeking fulfillment, purpose and security; ultimately these things can only be found in the Lord and in following Him. Over the past year God has been teaching me about being his child, what it means to allow Him to be King over every area of my life, and what is looks like to trust Him as a good Father. This learning has been hard and is definitely not done!
YWAM Crossroads DTS is opportunity for me to continue to know God better in these ways, seek His direction and purpose for my life and also to make Him known to others!
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
(Deuteronomy 31:8)
