Hello,
I'm Jeri. I'm a comic artist from Vancouver who is also an animal lover. I have 3 sweet cats - Viddies the senior orange fluffer at age 17. She has Hyper thyroid and Kidney disease. Her Daughter Vegetable is 15 years old and still looks like a kitten. Then we have our young boy, Cheese who is a bengal mix and a sweet angel boy when he isn't destroying everything.
They are the true loves of our lives.
Right now my day job is not particularly fullfilling and the comic artist job isn't really bringing in much income. As I've gotten older I've started to realise I need my daily work to have a deeper meaning to me than simply paying the bills - which this job barely pays enough to do.
What I would love to do is take the veterinary assistant program at Granville College (as it offers the only part time course) and become a Veterinary technician.
The money raised is to cover the cost of the tuition of the course (+5% of the go fund me fee). I'm not eligable for student loans or other funding but I also have set up some savings goals but my income even with my sisters help just isn't going to cut it - what I can manage won't even cover tax.
The course starts in September 2016 so I'd need the funds at least a few months before that.

This means a lot to me because I love my pets, I've always been an advocate for animals and I would finally like to have a carreer that is fullfilling and meaningful. I'd like to eventually be able to also volunteer my time at animal rescue places/ wildlife rehabilitation.
This is a life long goal that was given up because of fear of not being able to pay bills. Instead I took a quick education in a field I wasn't interested in and ended up being un happy in my job. This would be fullfilling a dream and giving my day to day life purpose by helping animals and people in need.
