John Cepek emergency medical care

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On February 27, John Cepek, a good friend and beloved member of the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) communities, was hospitalized in Pula, Croatia, with a brain hemorrhage after an accidental fall.  This occurred on a day trip during their much-anticipated cruise in the Adriatic.  John has been in a hospital in this small town for several days in an induced coma.  He is now stable and will soon be flown to Munich, Germany, for better treatment.

Charleen, his wife, is there, and a son and daughter-in-law have joined them in this time of crisis.  Some of the expenses will eventually be covered by insurance but much more will not.  I hope that our UIC community and our many friends can show our appreciation and support for John and his family in this medical crisis.
