Mack McClendon, the bold community leader of the Lower 9th Ward and founder of the Lower 9th Ward Village was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at the end of last year. We ask that you help him and his family members aid Mack with his medical expenses and help fulfill Mack's desires to live out the rest of his time here with a quality of life.
He has dedicated his entire life to serving those around him- in particular the elders, young people, and the working class. He has given his everything in helping his neighbors and the Lower 9th Ward community come back since Katrina, He has helped thousands and thousands of volunteers to see and understand the injustices the Lower 9th Ward, a community that had the highest concentration of black homeowners, continues to face.
At this time, we need to come together as a community and show the love and support to Mack that he has taught us all about. He has connected and touched the lives of so many with his inspiration and dedication to change for a better world.
