About the artist -

Jonathan J Bower lives in Anchorage, AK, where he works full-time as an unpaid chauffeur for his two sons. When relieved of these duties, he works as a musician, freelance writer and teacher. On the release of his 2012 EP, But So Beautiful, The Anchorage Press wrote, “[This is] masterful storytelling. These songs weave beautiful, forlorn tales in a matter of minutes, but with a defiant note of hope.” Hope, Alaska followed in 2014, and in January 2018 Jonathan released his third solo album, Light Years.

Jonathan's special Valentine’s Day show will feature a wide selection of acoustic original music and cover tunes, homemade Valentines and chocolate for the audience, and promises to be specially designed for “the rest of us” – a Valentine’s for everyone and anyone without plans for candlelit dinners, heart-shaped boxes, flutes of champagne, or a living room full of roses. Come one, come all, and come tender. (Couples welcome, too!)

Live at Surreal is an in-studio live performance series where the audience participates in the recording of a live album by an Alaskan artist. In addition to attending the show, you'll receive a a personal link to download the live album for free when it's mastered and released. It's a pretty cool thing. When you purchase a seat through GoFundMe, you'll receive more information about the show.
