In Loving Memory of Lane East

My cousin Lane is the youngest of 4 children. He was born years after his older siblings, Julia, Andrew and Olivia. Without a doubt he was a gift to his family who immediately loved, spoiled and adored him!
Lane was born with several medical issues which included bladder issues and only one functioning kidney (that didn't function much), he was not expected to survive. He beat all of the doctor's expectation and has just turned 14 on Oct 13, 2018. His life has not been easy. He has been in and out of the hospital with surgeries and infections since birth. This has not stopped him from being one of the most outgoing, happy people I know. Rarely will you see Lane without a smile on his face or a positive outlook on life although the struggle is always there. He is always trying to make others happy in or out of the hospital.
Last year Lane's mother died after years of struggling with her own health issues. This left 4 children without a mom, Lane was only 12. Lane's oldest sister Julia and their father are Lane's primary caregivers. Julia also has 2 young children of her own and without question she fell into her role as mother to a 12 year old.
The time has finally come where Lane must have a kidney transplant and without hesitation all 3 of his older siblings stepped up, offered a kidney to their little brother and started the testing to see who would be the best match. Julia is a perfect match and the surgery will be performed on Oct 23, 2018.
Knowing the burden this family endures, I am asking my friends and family to step up and help with prayer and finances. Julia works full time and is a mother to 3 (which includes Lane). The kidney donation surgery will take her out of work for awhile, not only taking a toll on the family finances but on her physically and emotionally. During that time Lane will also need special care and be taking several trips back and forth to the hospital (1 hour away from their home) for months after his surgery! This family has endured a lot and continues to give glory to God for the small things. Please join me in blessing this family by prayer and meeting some of their financial needs during this time! Thank you.
