On March 15, 2018, MSGT Christopher "Goose" Raguso of the NYANG 106th Rescue Wing was killed in action while on a night mission supporting coalition forces near the Iraq/Syria border during Operation Inherent Resolve, the continuing war against ISIS.
Chris was also a Lt for FDNY at Engine 302 in Queens and a Lt for the Commack FD at Station 4. This was to be his last combat tour and he "gave it all" to serve his country, the city where he was born and his local community.
He leaves behind a loving wife and two young daughters...who now need your help. The proceeds of this event will go to Chris' family, to help with the education of his girls as they grow up without their loving dad.
The event: "Jump for Goose!" is a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) skydive jump being organized by experienced skydiver, Greenlawn Fire Department Lieutenant & fmr. FDNY Tactical Response Group (TRG) EMT Eric Proctor to support the Christopher "Goose" Raguso family. Eric worked with Chris' brother, Anthony, while on the job .
The jump will be completed on July 7th, 2018 at Skydive Cross Keys: 300 Dahlia Ave, Williamstown, NJ 08094 The Skydive will be done at over 23,000 feet, wearing military grade oxygen equipment similar to those used by U.S. special operations elements! Without this special equipment, a skydiver would become hypoxic within seconds. This is the highest altitude Eric has ever attempted. Cameras will be worn by the jumpers & will be shared online after the event.
"Goose" dedicated every aspect of his life in the selfless service of others. Larger than life, his smile brightened any room. A true leader, he made the ultimate sacrifice for his community and his country. Please join us in honoring the memory of a true American hero by supporting the Raguso family with a donation today!
