Support Elsie Allen H.S. Baseball

Donation protected
Elsie Allen High School Baseball is looking for donations and sponsors to help advance the program through the 2015 season and future seasons to come.

My name is Matt Kasch and last year I was an assistant coach at rival Piner High School. This year, I was given the opportunity to lead Elsie Allen as their Head Coach. Upon hearing the news that I would be in charge of my own baseball program, I discovered that the baseball account was $2000+ in debt. I had also learned that the baseball field was not receiving any water or care during the summer. Within a few weeks of watering and a bag of fertilizer, I was able to bring back most of the infield grass.

Just when progress was being made, we experienced a major setback when our water pipe for the field broke. The pipe would remain broken for almost 2 months due to an ongoing struggle with the district. Recently over our last holiday break, our center field fence somehow fell over and still remains down.

These obstacles are a small sample of what the student athletes go through at Elsie Allen. We are considered a socioeconomically disadvantaged school, receiving Federal Title I funds to support our students to achieve their academic potential but there is no funding for extracurricular activities.

Growing up in Petaluma, CA, I had the privilege of playing baseball as a Casa Grande Gaucho. Never having any issues with supplying our teams with equipment and uniforms, I was lucky to play for programs in high school and college without the issues we are facing here at Elsie.

It's important to me that these young men have the same opportunities that I had when I was a player. Some of the best memories I have were from being part of a high school baseball team. I want my kids to help build, and be a part of, a well respected program. Baseball is more than just playing a game; it's about building character and developing future life skills.

I want to transform this program into a "sought-out-for" high school baseball program. Every year, Elsie Allen High School loses prospective athletes to other schools outside of Southwest Santa Rosa. I truly believe that if we were to turn around our high school sports programs, local students will make Elsie Allen a top choice.

Our goal is set at $5000. These funds will be used for the purchase of:

Uniforms(Varsity+JV+Hats) $2000

Baseballs $1000

Portable Backstop $2000

The portable backstop will allow us to keep the baseballs in the field during our batting practice.

This goal is only set for the necessities for the 2015 season. Any extra money donated will go towards:

Repairing the equipment shed roof that recieved massive water damage from the last storm

Press box renovations (steps need to be replaced)

Replacing backstop (rotting wood)

Ride along mower

Scoreboard

Yards of clay and dirt

Wind screen for outfield fence

I am excited for this opportunity to rebuild this baseball program and I am excited for those who choose to be a part of its process. Any donation will help the Lobos greatly. If you cannot donate money but you could donate labor or any other service, that helps just as much.

Thank you for your time.
