Delene Smith's Fire Fund
Donation protected
Delene and Jim Smith lost their home to a fire on Thursday, January 8, 2015 on one of the coldest nights on record in the DFW area. Fortunately, they escaped without injury. The couple was able to get out with the clothes they were wearing (Delene was barefoot) their cars, their pets and one cell phone. The home was a total loss and sadly the couple does not have insurance. Delene has worked as a legal secretary for the Corp of Engineers for years and is an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay. Delene has served in the Boy Scouts for over 20 years and is currently the cub master for Pack 79. Jim is retired and does odd-jobs to help supplement the family income. The couple does own the land that their house once stood on free and clear and their hope and prayer is to be able to re-build their home. These two people have worked hard their entire lives and lost everything in a matter of moments. We are asking for your help to get them back on their feet and to help them put the pieces back together! Any donation, even $1 will be greatly appreciated. Delene and Jim are two of the most caring individuals who have constantly served their community, their friends and their family. Now, it is our turn to give back to them. Thank you so much for your assitance.
