I'm ready to start feeling better!
My name is Alisha. I'm 26 years old and have suffered with severe manic-depression for about four years. My episodes are painfully terrible. After these episodes and trips to the hospital, most of the time I make little changes to my social surroundings. This causes me to fall right back into a depression that is unfathomable. This time, I want to make a change. I'm ready to start feeling better.
I'm raising money with the hopes of attending a four week Phelobotomy class at Tesst College of Technology starting January 21st (or February 19th, depending on the situation). I know that a career change is not a magical solution, but I strongly believe that achieving something in my life such as these classes will help push me into better decision making and, in general, make me feel proud of what I'm doing with my life.
Mental illness is, at times, unexplainable. I'm not looking for people to feel sorry for me, rather I'm hoping quite the opposite. I want to do the right thing in my life and I want to work towards something that will help shape my future into something attainable, and I believe that these classes are that answer.
My parents have agreed to pay for half of my tuition so my goal is $500 to pay for the remaining half.
Thank you for taking the time to read this :)
