KCC - Recovery from Robbery

Donation protected
Sometime in between last night’s worship team rehearsal and this morning’s service - our church was robbed. As you can see in the photo, the window was "professionally" removed and a stool was placed where the robbers made their entrance. The electricity was cut (to disable the alarm system) and our church was also robbed of our entire sound system, television from the children’s room and our building in the front was ransaked and destroyed. This morning, our church family gathered and had service. Despite having no electricity, sound system or even windows.

[The following is from one of our worship leaders, Jamie Grace Harper]

My name is Jamie Grace Harper. I’m the youngest of Bishop James and Pastor Mona Harper. Their oldest daughter, Morgan, is married to Patrick. Last month the 5 of us  packed up our lives and drove to Los Angeles, California - a temporary move to seek better healthcare for our mom . It was tough to leave our home, family and also our amazing church but we knew that our church family would continue to spread the love of Jesus Christ.

Since moving to California for my mom’s health, my dad has flown back to preach and be with our church (last week). I flew back to worship with our church family and take the teens to an event called Winter Jam (two weeks ago). It hurts our hearts that this has happened, and it’s very difficult to process not being in Georgia to walk through this devastation with our church family.

As we begin to recover - as KCC in Stone Mountain begins to recover - these are the things we are asking…

1. Prayer. We believe in the power of prayer and would like to ask that you pray for Kingdom City Church during this time. We would also like to pray for those who robbed our church. We cannot imagine what they must be facing in their lives to bring them to commit such an act as this.

2. Support. We gather at 11am on Sunday mornings. We would truly appreciate as much support from the community as we can. Our family will be trying to be there physically to support as well.

3. A monetary contribution. As a missionary church, our focus is to serve the community. This means that most of our leaders serve as missionaries. Additionally, we do not have the means to recover as quickly as we may hope. KCC will continue to gather and worship. Our church family will continue to serve through song, fellowship and tithing. And with your help, we can be back on our feet and continue to to serve our community.

Thank you. For whatever way you are able to give. Thank you.
