Midtown KC Rally #NationalWalkout
Donation protected
On March 24, 2018, millions of people across the country gathered in their communities to rally and march against the horrifying gun violence that plagues our nation, and on April 20, 2018, we hope to host another rally. This time mainly for students in the Midtown KC area. April 20 marks the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting, and it seems we have not learned from our mistakes. Here's the current plan of our rally as of now.
10 am: Students walk out and do 6.5 minutes of silence with their respective schools.
12-3pm: Student/Parents gather at the park across the street from Pilgrim Chapel ( 3801 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, MO 64111) for a rally.
As of now, we are working with the following KC Metro high schools:
- Pembroke Hill School
- Park Hill South High School
- Center High School
- Park Hill High School
- Winnetonka High School
- Blue Springs South High School
- Bishop Miege High School
- Lincoln College Preparatory Academy
- Shawnee Mission East High School
Though we are growing in numbers, we need help with getting a permit for the park, sound equipment, a small stage, as well as buses to transport students (many schools have denied providing transportation).
Any money left over will be donated to Kansas City organizations or the KC chapters of organizations aiding the fight against gun violence, such as Moms Demand Action, Grandparents Against Gun Violence, and KC Mothers in Charge. Though we may be young, we are not afraid to fight for our lives and a better world. Thank you for helping our cause.
