In the summer of 2009, as I was getting ready to enter my Sophomore year at Villanova, my world as I knew it, changed abruptly.
I fell while skateboarding in my neighborhood and hit my head on the pavement. The fall severely damaged my brain stem. What does that mean? It means that while my mind is awake I am "locked-in" and have little control over my body .
I live at home in Middletown with my family. They love to take care of me. They are always looking for ways for me to communicate and new treatments that will bring me back to full consciousness.
My family and friends have set up a gofundme account to help my family pay for expenses related to my injury not covered by insurance.
