Hey everyone!
Wow... It has been officially 2 years since I came out with my 1st EP (Heart & Soul). The experience was one I will never forget. I am still overflowing with gratitude from everyone’s love and support. I am also so thankful to have been produced by one of my great friends and fellow artists, Jimmy Needham. The whole project was such an awesome thing to watch unfold as people connected with the songs...both on a fun level and, most importantly, on a spiritual level.
Since my last EP…
- I got married to the love of my life.
- Went to South Africa & Zimbabwe with a team of songwriters to teach & show the love of Jesus to 5,000 children.
- Attended a songwriters retreat at the IMB (International Mission Board) headquarters in Richmond, VA.
- The church I helped plant & where I lead worship (Stonegate Church) hit its 5 year anniversary.
- I have continued to travel to several states for different events, camps, and retreats using songs from Heart & Soul to share the Gospel.
All that to say… God has given me new vision for a new project.
With that vision, comes a lot of expenses for studio space, producers, players, etc. I funded my last EP on my own and it was a big financial undertaking. This time I really need help with funding; with your help, I can make this vision come to life! Also, while my wife is the most supportive woman on the planet, she is ready for some new tunes! Haha! :)
About this project:
- I'm currently writing 15-20 songs & will pick the top 5 that will make up the new EP.
- In a culture where most races/people groups attend church separately, I am trying to bring musical diversity by writing "middle ground" songs that celebrate Jesus while bridging the gap primarily between the white & black church. God has placed this passion in my heart for racial harmony and I am excited to see what music comes from it!
- Excited to share that Will Hunt will be producing this new EP. He has produced a lot of my favorite artists like Shane & Shane, Jimmy Needham, and many more!
- As I found out while recording the first EP, my style is definitely one that leans towards soul/pop. This is what I'm stoked to press more into.
I will hopefully be posting a video very soon that shares a bit more of my vision behind the new EP! In the meantime, thank you so much for your donations & support! Means more than you know.
