Stef's medical expenses fund

In February, 2014, two days after my 50th birthday, I was hospitalized for gastrointestinal issues involving my liver.  I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver (not involving alcohol use). In October, 2014, I was readmitted to the hospital after vomiting blood. After many tests, it was determined that I needed to be on a low sodium diet.

I've been hospitalized a total of 5 times since my initial diagnosis in 2014. I've finally was able to get health insurance through the Affordable Care Act in 2016, but my medical bills still pile up. I'm paying them off as I can, but I'll never be completely caught up at the rate I'm going.

I now have liver cirrhosis and at some point, I may need a liver transplant. My checkups have all been positive, and not currently a candidate for the transplant list. It has been suggested that i go through the listing process any way. However, it turns out I have the wrong type of insurance. It won't cover a transplant. I intend to change it during open enrollment in 2016.

If you are so inclined, I humbly ask for any amount you are able to spare. My only other recourse is to declare bankruptcy, and I'd like to avoid that.

Thank you for reading.
