Kory - USMC Veteran in Need

Kory Kasten – former US Marine, faithful husband to Kate, devoted father to Jonathan (7) and Zoe (5). Since the summer of 2015, Kory’s resolve and life have been challenged by kidney cancer that has now spread to his lungs and pelvic bone. This is the second time he has had to battle cancer. In 2010, he had one kidney removed, followed by surgery to remove prostate cancer. This time, the cancer has returned with a vengeance.

Kory is a strong man – his friends and family call him “Captain K”, as in “Make it happen, Captain!” He was a loyal defender of our country as a US Marine, which included Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. Now, “Captain K” is again fighting cancer and he’s doing it with the resolve he served the USA - with his whole heart, body and soul. The treatment sessions and hospital stays have been long. The side effects have been horrific! Throughout each and every one, his wife, Kate, is always by his side. Together they fight, hand in hand. He and his entire family are fiercely fighting in solidarity but the treatment costs, doctors’ fees and hospital bills have created a huge hardship! These bills continue to accumulate and the trip to the mailbox has become a depressing chore!

Kory deserves to watch his kids grow up, graduate, go to college! He is determined to do that! Some days, thinking about his kids is the only thing that keeps him going! Jonathan and Zoe also deserve to have their dad around for a long time. So please … let's rally together to help Kory and Kate. If we do this for them, they can focus on beating this nasty cancer rather than constantly worrying about the dark financial cloud hanging over their head!
