#ISAACMYHERO
Isaac is a inspirational, courageous 10 year old who has been diagnosed with leukemia for the second time in his young life. He was only three years old when he was first diagnosed with this awful disease. After numerous treatments and 3 and half years of treatment, Isaac was off of treatment for 4 years. He was only one year from being in the "clear" but unfortunatly on January 13,2015, Isaac was diagnosed with ALL leukemia. This time it is in his bone marrow and in his spine. Isaac will spend 5 weeks in the hospital undergoing "Induction Therapy."
Isaac's father works for the Miramar Fire Department in San Diego, CA. 5 of us have decided we want to show support for our hero! We have decided that we are going to run the Rock and Roll marathon, in firefighting gear. We are doing this to help raise money for his family with the financial hardships and expenses that occur during diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up care phases of the disease. (This can be as long as 2 years). When Isaac finally beats his cancer, he will then donate the remainding money to the pediactric cancer research foundation of his choice. When Adam first told us of Issac's diagnosis you could hear a pin drop. All of us being fathers, could not even imagine what he is going through. The fire service is a 'brotherhood" and family in the truest sense.
Isaac, you are such an AMAZING person, and you brighten up the firehouse everytime you visit! You are the toughest little man we have ever met. We want to raise awareness and show our support for your fight against cancer. We will be shaving our heads in honor of your courage and strength that you have demonstrated from day one and we have decided that we would run for you in the San Diego Rock N Roll marathon in our firefighting gear. If we have even a fraction of your strength, we will be able to complete it! You are our hero!!
