WHO IS ADAM ZARI?
Adam Zari is a professional skateboarder from Malaysia. He rides for Kulcats and DC Shoes Malaysia. He has competed and placed in more than 80 competitions over the years.
Adam is one of the most talented and hardworking skateboarders out there. He never misses a chance compete and travel as far as he can to skate; be it around Asia and/or Europe to develop his skateboarding. Adam has competed in more than 80 competitions in Malaysia, across Southeast Asia and Sweden, Europe. This guy is truly passionate. For a long time he has dreams of skating in the US, now he has a chance by participating in PHX AM 2015, a world renown skateboarding competition in Phoenix, AZ .
Adam is also a personal friend of mine whom I've known for many years now, he is considered one of the most pro-active and competitive skateboarder in Malaysia and possibly even in South East Asia. Over the years of knowing Adam, having traveled with him across the country. – Ameen Ruslan
Why should you help him?
Because Adam really wants to Skate and compete in the PHXAM and the US. He has a dream and he is no quitter, however, there is a problem.
He face challenges from a bureaucracy that shuts the US from the world; Whereby, people who are not wealthy and do not own valueble assets, are declined a visa, which is necessary to gain entry into the US.
This situation makes it hard for Adam and many talented skaters from all across the world to not have access to the US. Even though a trip to the US is the best thing any foreign skater could wish for; California being the birthplace of skateboarding, its a natural urge, with great meaning, a life's goal and it is important. It’s what chicken' means to KFC.
THE SOLUTION – PHX AM 2015
The PHXAM however gives an opportunity to people like Adam to participate and skate here, and by participating in the PHXAM, there is a high chance that Adam would be approved for a Visa that necessary for him to enter the US.
A week ago, I read an interview cutting from Metro Newspaper from a local Malaysian newspaper, the interview is posted on Adam's page on FB. The interview was done in 2009 when Adam was 22 years old; in this interview, Adam repeated reiterated that it has and it remains his dream to one day step foot and skate in America, simply for the sake of developing and improving his skateboarding. It’s been more than 7 years now since that interview was publish, and Adam has only grown and improve as a skateboarder, he remains a very passionate and competitive skater, however, he has yet to fulfill his dream of skating in the US
Personal Plea
You should help Adam because he is a true skater, and he believes in following his dreams to be a top professional skater. Even though he was not born rich to be able to afford this entry fee, the flight ticket or the travel expenses, he is not a quitter. He still skates hard every day and compete every chance he gets to push skateboarding. If you are a true dreamer, a determined person with a no-quit attitude, you will feel Adam struggle and just like me, you would want to extend a helping hand by donating to the cause, every cent counts.
